THEBAULT INGÉNIERIE has jointly designed with its client and built a milk processing Factory in Méautis near Carentan (Manche) for Maîtres Laitiers du Cotentin

Some remarkable team work in conjunction with Process partners
The Maîtres Laitiers du Cotentin factory has been up and running since Monday 3rd April 2017. Quality work done by a top class team.
Five weeks earlier than scheduled, on 10th March 2017 Thebault Ingénierie handed over its milk processing factory to its long-term client, Maîtres Laitiers du Cotentin. This unit will supply the French and Chinese markets with milk products.
The Norman milk cooperative (1200 members and 700 employees) wanted to build a new automated production unit for UHT baby milk for China and fresh cheese (butter and fresh cream) for the French market. They chose Thebault Ingénierie based on what they had seen in the past and the successful work done together.
This was a huge challenge, as the timing was tight, but in spite of all the technical and administrative constraints, they pulled it off.
Thebault Ingénierie went for a joint construction project with Maîtres Laitiers du Cotentin and the Process partners. Throughout the design phase, all of those involved acted quickly, responding well and efficiently. Everyone showed total commitment with the common goal defined by Maîtres Laitiers du Cotentin. “For me, this has been one of the most successful projects we have carried out,” explained Philippe Loiseau, General Director of Thebault Ingénierie.
“Building work is successful when you are well prepared,” added Eric Dalibot, head of the design team at Thebault Ingénierie.
Nothing was left to chance during the seventeen months of building work. ”To do so much work in such a short space of time, we divided our work up into four areas,” explained Eric Dalibot.
Johann Duroc, in charge of the building work, led a full-time team of nine engineers and technicians from Thebault Ingénierie. He explains that “the challenge was to draw up a schedule to allow the firms working here in the four areas to work together throughout the construction, in harmony and safely.”
By coming up with the design of the site at Méautis/Carentan, Thebault Ingénierie expressed what Maitres Laitiers du Cotentin were looking for from the outset and what they were looking forward to in five to ten years. “Our client’s business tends to fluctuate and it was important to set up a factory, which could adapt to the order books and future development,” explained Johann Duroc. Completing the work five weeks ahead of schedule, Thebault Ingénierie pulled it off.
700 million litres for China
For the Chinese market, the factory will fill 20 cl milk cartons, or in other words 700 million litres per year.
